Attack On Titan 2 for Nintendo Switch Review

When Attack on Titan 2 was first announced I was honestly suprised, because I didn't know that there was an Attack on Titan game to begin with.

After doing a little research, I found out that the original game sold over 700,000 copies worldwide. While following both the original and the sequel both closely follow season 1 of the anime, the sequel also very lightly follows the events of the shows second season.

The first thing I initially noticed about this game is it's combat style, how the developers used small details and mechanice on the ODM to really bring the experience of fighting titans to life the second is how well Keoi Tecmo portrayed the characters and how amazingly gruesome the Titans actually looked. Although there were a couple frame drops, this only accorded during 1 or 2 battles of intense non stop combat. This however did not take from the overall enjoyment and playability of the game.

Along with character creation and a well put together story mode, AOT also offers another mode, literally called Another Mode. In this mode you can aid other players with Story Mode Co-Op, Scout missions, Annihalition, and a new online mode Predator. In Predator Mode, up to four players can play as titans, trying to eat as many humans as possible, as they run up against many characters from the anime.

Whether your a seasoned fan of the anime, a casual, or your completely new to the world of AOT, this game is a great way to experience the main events of the anime. While I did enjoy playing through this game, it is a far cry from perfect. One of my least favorite features is the weapon upgrade system. Although this is not a complete fail, I do feel as if they made farming for the materials for weapons more or a chore than anything. Not to say that farming materials to upgrade is impossible, but certain materials are certainly harder to farm than others.

I rate Attack On Titan 2 a 7/10 and in my opinion a must have for any AOT fan who owns a Nintendo Switch !!!
